Nasi Tumpeng is a classic Javanese rice dish closely associated with celebrations, blessings, and appreciation. At the centre of the presentation is a tall cone of rice, often tinted yellow with turmeric, which is then surrounded by a selection of side dishes such as meats, vegetables, and sambal. The distinctive cone shape is inspired by the image of a sacred mountain, reflecting ideas of harmony, prosperity, and the journey of life.
Traditionally prepared for meaningful gatherings, Nasi Tumpeng is commonly served during festive occasions, community events, and family milestones. Its symbolic presentation and variety of dishes make it a popular centrepiece for celebrations, including a Hari Raya buffet, where it adds a culturally rich and visually striking element to the dining table.

We believe in being upfront. Here’s our candid opinion on what you gain and what to keep in mind when choosing a Hari Raya buffet caterer versus cooking at home.
Given that Syawal is one of the busiest periods for Hari Raya catering in Singapore, we highly recommend placing your order at least two to four weeks in advance. At Eatz Catering, our kitchen reaches maximum capacity very quickly, especially for the first three days of Hari Raya and the popular weekend slots throughout the month.
As a general guideline, orders require 1–3 days’ advance notice (subject to availability). However, because the Hari Raya season is an especially peak period, last-minute orders may have limited menu options or delivery time slots.
Booking early helps secure your preferred delivery timing and allows our team to prepare your festive spread with the freshest ingredients. While we always try to accommodate urgent requests, popular menus and time slots tend to fill up fast during this festive period, so early reservation is the best way to ensure a smooth and enjoyable celebration.
Yes. Delivery charges are slightly higher on public holidays. At Eatz Catering, we keep our pricing straightforward and transparent so you can plan your celebration without worrying about unexpected festive charges.
For buffet catering, the standard setup and delivery fee is $80 ($87.20 incl. GST) and is waived for orders above $1,000 (before GST). However, on public holidays, a $100 delivery fee ($109 incl. GST) will apply.

Choosing the right setup depends on your venue and the number of guests. A full Hari Raya buffet in Singapore is the traditional choice for larger open houses; it includes a complete setup with tables, skirting, warmers to keep the food at the right temperature, and a full set of disposable wares. This is ideal if you want a set-and-forget experience where our team handles the heavy lifting.
In contrast, our mini buffet is designed for smaller, more intimate family gatherings of 8 to 15 people (or more!). It is delivered in high-quality, heat-retaining disposable containers without the table setup or warmers. It’s a space-saving, fuss-free option that still delivers the same authentic festive flavours without requiring a large footprint in your home.
While many caterers offer Muslim-friendly menus, Eatz Catering is proud to be a fully MUIS Halal-certified caterer. This certification is a core part of our identity and ensures that every single ingredient, from the meat to the spices in our Rendang, is sourced and prepared according to strict Halal standards. When you host a Hari Raya gathering, the last thing you want is for your guests to feel uncertain about the food. Our Halal certification provides that essential peace of mind, allowing all your Muslim friends and relatives to dine with complete confidence and enjoy the celebration to the fullest.
We understand that modern festive gatherings often include guests with diverse dietary needs. While our Hari Raya menus are traditionally meat-centric, Eatz Catering can accommodate vegetarian requests or specific food allergies. We recommend highlighting these requirements during the booking process. For severe allergies, our chefs take extra care in preparation, though we always advise guests with extreme sensitivities to exercise caution as our kitchen handles various ingredients.
Freshness and food safety are our top priorities. If you are hosting an all-day open house, we strongly recommend opting for our full buffet setup. Eatz Catering provides professional-grade chafing dishes with fuel burners that keep the food at a consistent, safe temperature (above 60°C) to prevent bacterial growth and maintain flavour.
According to SFA guidelines, food should generally be consumed within 4 hours of being placed in the warmers. For events spanning longer than 4 hours, we suggest arranging for staggered delivery times (where we bring a fresh batch of food halfway through the day) to ensure that your evening guests enjoy the same quality and safety as those who arrived in the morning.
A true Hari Raya feast isn’t complete without the classics, and Eatz Catering specialises in these heritage flavours. The absolute must-haves that we recommend for every menu include our signature Beef Rendang, which is slow-cooked until the meat is fork-tender, and our rich, creamy Ayam Masak Merah. You cannot skip the Lontong (rice cakes) paired with a robust Sayur Lodeh and a side of Serundeng & Sambal Chilli. For a bit of crunch, our golden-fried Bergedil (potato cutlet) is always a crowd-favorite. We also suggest adding a refreshing dessert like our Heritage Mocha Chocolate Gateau to balance out the rich, spicy flavours of the main course.
At Eatz Catering, our portions are generally quite generous. As a rule of thumb, if you are expecting 50 guests, ordering for 50 pax is usually sufficient, as our menus are designed to be filling. However, if your guests are big eaters or if you are hosting an open house where people may drop in unexpectedly, you might want to buffer by an extra 10%.
We also suggest considering the type of guests; if you have many young children, you can often afford to be more conservative with the headcount compared to an event with many adults.
For a full buffet setup, we typically require about two to three standard-sized foldable tables (roughly 1.2m to 1.8m each) placed end-to-end. It is best to place the buffet line against a long wall to allow for a smooth one-way traffic flow for your guests. If you are opting for the mini buffet, the space requirement is much smaller, essentially just enough room on a kitchen counter or a single dining table to lay out the containers. When our Eatz Catering setup team arrives, they will assess your space and suggest the most efficient layout to ensure your guests can move easily without causing a bottleneck in your living or dining area.
For our full buffet service, Eatz Catering provides basic trash bags for your convenience. During the collection of our equipment (usually 3 to 4 hours after delivery), our team will clear the food waste from our chafing dishes and tidy up the buffet area.
However, please note that general event waste, such as used disposable plates and cups scattered around the venue, is the responsibility of the host to bag and dispose of in the estate’s designated bins. If you are using our mini buffet service, all containers are disposable, so you will simply need to clear them into your own trash bags once the meal is finished.
